Put together a quick and easy (albeit a little messy) case for under $5 US. The project case is about 3"x4"x1.5" and was priced at $4, the rubber bumpers inside were priced at $.50 for a peel and stick sheet of 8. I found the parts locally at Tanner's Electronics for those in the Dallas, TX area. A little hacking away with a dremel, a drill, an exacto and a nail file and my pi is now safe from the cats.
The clear case is a small fishing gear case made by PLANO the main body of the Pi fits but the cutting necessary on the hinge side for the USB and Ethernet might make the case fall apart, but it is clear which would up the cool factor so I think I'll give it a shot some time.
