No, AUII, the upgrade to PHPBB means the old stuff doesn't work anymore.

But if you have specific reasons why RPI is not your cup of tea, let ups know, and we will try to make it more Darjeeling.

Body text of posts is very light grey in thin font, not very comfortable for me to read. Is there any way I can change the font?
I'm running Firefox ESR 52.2.0 (64 bit) on a Debian 8 box if that helps.

why not using the attachement option of the forum, to post screenshots?
(to add attachements, go to the bottom below the [Save draft] / [Preview] / [Submit] area)

EDIT: i noticed, that the image appears in the browser (Microsoft Edge) different as in the Microsoft Photo viewer. in one the gray looks way lighter than in the other.

i just realized,that a part of my signatur below my posts is missing (not shown up anymore) event it is still there in my profile.
the following part in the signature is missing:

it also will not appear, when i put it in a quote block:

edit: when you edit my post, you can see, the text is still there. but not shown up, when the post is normally displayed.

all skins RPI and ProSilver are affected. it was correctly shown up earlier, before the new skins came up.

Don't like the new look for the forum, looks old, makes me think of windoze 98. It was a lot cleaner, easier to view and modern looking before the change.

Try the slick and adult "RPI" theme rather than the exceedingly ugly "Raspberry_Pi" theme designed for short-sighted, five year olds.

Didn't realise there were options to change the theme, thanks, "RPI" is the best option available, but still falls short of the previous forum design, just my opinion.

I've been out and had a couple of drinks but the new forum skin seems a lot more "contrasty" than it did earlier on today - and I like it

if things look dull again tomorrow I'll be disapointed

If anyone has had trouble posting, the message going missing for example, this should now be fixed, along with the "Permanently banned" issue. Both, in fact, symptoms of the same thing.

Click on your NAME at top of FORUM then choose USER CONTROL PANEL from drop down menu, then Board Preferences............

Keep in mind that "spanner" is British-ese for "wrench".

I mention this because I think that the word "spanner" is also used in a more technical sense in web design to me, well, something that spans.

I used to browse the forums.. with this change, I'll just use google search site:www.raspberrypi.org and find what I am looking for.. I know I might miss new news. But it isn't worth the time to look for it.. BTW.. you asked for specifics about what is wrong.. never did I see specifics on the gonna be change before you made it!

1. Topic page indicator, top and bottom right of RPI themed page: shows ellipsis too soon (when only one number is removed), should wait to span two numbers.
2. RPI theme, Page width still too narrow for wide screen monitors

The default non logged in theme seems to be not particularly mobile friendly as well, too spread out.

phpBB was in serious need of updating, this was quite a big change, the RPF just took the opportunity to offer skins...............

It was broken. We were well behind in security upgrades. So that's what we have done, upgrade to fix the security issues.

Always worthwhile getting all the facts before posting.

Er, what? I've been using the RPI skin, and can browse the forums fine. What EXACTLY is the problem, or is it simply "I cannot be bothered to learn something slightly different"?

There is a button top left, a three line icon, click it, press New Post. Gets a list of all new posts. Try it, it may change you life.

I'm not sure what browser your screen shot was from, but this should work for Firefox or Chrome until the people maintaining the CSS get round to fixing the width issues.
