It is my opinion that persevering with a utility that has had no support since the time of RPI2 introduction a year ago, is asking for frustration. Everything else has moved on.

Error 500 is a general error!

Do you have a Raspberry Pi2 ?

Did you install the patch for the Pi2?

I have the patched version now working with a Pi 3b so it is possible!! But, it does give errors on instalation so it might not be "fully" working?!

I tried to PM you but I don't think I can yet since I'm new. Anyway you could share how you got it to work? struggled with it last night and couldn't resolve it. Any help would be much appreciated

Ok not to beat a dead horse that has been dead almost a year now, but I cannot get Webiopi to work no matter what I do. I have a model 2B running Jessie and I have done a ton of research and tried various things. I have no programming experience however I can google search like the best of them. I have edited the cpuinfo.c file myself, as well as the gpio.c file, I ran everything in danjperron's post for the patches and still not working. When I navigate to the IP all I get no matter what changes I do is what you see in the screen shot, and that is using various browser (Chrome, Chromium, Firefox). Any help is appreciated because I am out of ideas. I am not all that technical but I like to look this stuff up and learn.

3.run setup.sh again.
Thanks a lot. This worked a treat for me.

This problem persist on raspberry pi 3 as well.
I fix this problem with:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
reboot raspberry

then start again service webiopi ;)

Hello together,

it seems that there is still at least one issue with the doublebind patch.

I've installed 2016-05-27-raspbian-jessie-lite on my Pi 2 and got the same Error as MikeGreany stated before. The wierd thing is, some time ago i had a hard one doing it on the same hardware and i remember that i did the patching "manual" to the files and some other things. In the end i did several things and got it to work.
The poor thing is, that i've draw it from a forum were the patch was discussed, and there was an issue with my Board Rev not to be reflected inside the patch and how to fix this. But this threat is gone, can't find it furthermore on the net, maybe due to moving code to goolge ?! I don't know.

My board Rev is:

Code: Select all

Hardware : BCM2709
Revision : a01041
Serial : 00000000797ac02f

I've checked it this time, and i find it should be working, but it doesn't.

While installing the patched webiopi, i found those errors which indeed cause the problems.

Code: Select all

arm-linux-gnueabihf-gcc -pthread -DNDEBUG -g -fwrapv -O2 -Wall -Wstrict-prototypes -fno-strict-aliasing -D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2 -g -fstack-protector-strong -Wformat -Werror=format-security -fPIC -I/usr/include/python2.7 -c native/gpio.c -o build/temp.linux-armv7l-2.7/native/gpio.o
native/gpio.c: In function âsetupâ:
native/gpio.c:90:5: warning: implicit declaration of function ânumber_of_coresâ [-Wimplicit-function-declaration]
     if (get_rpi_revision() <= 2  || number_of_cores() <= 2)
     ^
arm-linux-gnueabihf-gcc -pthread -DNDEBUG -g -fwrapv -O2 -Wall -Wstrict-prototypes -fno-strict-aliasing -D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2 -g -fstack-protector-strong -Wformat -Werror=format-security -fPIC -I/usr/include/python2.7 -c native/cpuinfo.c -o build/temp.linux-armv7l-2.7/native/cpuinfo.o
native/cpuinfo.c: In function âget_cpuinfo_revisionâ:
native/cpuinfo.c:38:7: warning: ignoring return value of âfgetsâ, declared with attribute warn_unused_result [-Wunused-result]
       fgets(buffer, sizeof(buffer) , fp);
       ^
but this isn't saying a bit to me.

Am i obviously missing something so far ? Any ideas or comments would be very appreciated. Never the less i will continue trying to find the problem.

Thank you very much

Hi all,

just to finish things, i've found it. I had to

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install rpi.gpio
and reinstall the patched webiopi. It still gives me the two shown errors, but as far as i tested it, everything works. :D
 Caveadd, python3 will also be installed with it.

Also tried to fix this by doing

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade -y
:?:
on a fresh install, but this did not work for some reason.

Maybe this helps others aswell

Cheers
