Mon Feb 20, 2017 6:50 pm

Hi, I'm very very new to the Raspberry..
I bought it because I need it to realize my project for the finals in high school...So, basically I know nothing..What I need to do tho is to make a video start automatically after powering the Raspberry..nothing manual, just plug in the power and after a few seconds the video starts by itself.. I tried this guide but it doesn't work : https://www.matthewhollander.com/play-v ... pberry-pi/

Please someone help me, it's important to me.

so at what step you say it is not working?
after step 1 make a script, i would say it needs to make it executable
nano /home/pi/Desktop/playvid.sh
chmod +x /home/pi/Desktop/playvid.sh

now test it with
cd
cd Desktop
./playvid.sh

( or with double click on it ( execute in terminal YES )
if it say name not found...check for directory and video filename
there is now a prepared directory /home/pi/Videos/
ps. for a first test it would be good not to start with a endless loop

if that is working goto step 2 and also test it with a double click
nano /home/pi/Desktop/videostart.desktop

if that is working goto step 3
sudo cp /home/pi/Desktop/videostart.desktop /etc/xdg/autostart/videostart.desktop
sudo reboot
