5MP OV5647 sensor allows for 120fps@320x240 – raspivid not

I was able to record a 320x240@90fps video with Raspberry Pi 5MP camera:

raspivid -h 320 -w 240 -fps 90 -t 17000 -o video.h264
Same command with 90fps replaced by 120fps results in a 302x240@90fps video as well.

So raspivid is able to take 320x240 videos, but caps at 90fps.
Is there any trick available to get 120fps?
Is raspivid source code available somewhere?

AFAIK the OV5647 doesn't go faster than 90 fps on the RPi, despite what capbilities the manufacturer claimed about that chip. Maybe they assumed a 4-lane MIPI interface, instead of 2 lanes that the RPi uses.

So 90fps is maximal, but it can be done even with 640x480 resolution, nice!

Yesterday I did my 1st waterglass slowmo with 90fps@640x480:

The 10sec video plays for 36sec in youtube @25fps:

TIL from my son that youtube settings allow to select speeds down to 0.25.
With that 90fps slowmo can be played 3.6*4 = 14.4 × slower than normal!

When will 1000fps target recognition and target tracking chip be available for Raspberry Pi usage? ;-)
