I did download the noobs lite image from https://sourceforge.net/projects/raspbi ... p/download
I works fine with an SD card but not on an Raspberry PI 3 with a USB stick only. As far as I can see the file recovery.elf
has hardcoded /dev/mmcblk0
in it and does not know how to handle /dev/sda
So far only https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentati ... des/msd.md
works for me.
It is the only way to boot a USB storage device without an SD card. When the boot is complete you can insert the SD card.
This is nice, because then you can modify the file system or other things that you could not when the root file system is in use.
I hope the Raspberry PI foundation will soon release a new recovery.elf
file that will work with USB only situations.
Or maybe Berryboot will bring out a new version.
