Re: CM and LAN9514

In theory, you are meant to hold the 9514 in reset before applying clocks to the clock input (or wait for the oscillator to start up). The reset can be released after 4 clock cycles which ensures that the signal has propagated and been registered across the entire chip.

In practice, you can apply the reset at any time including after the clock has already started to reset the device to a known state.

I have been googling around looking for CM LAN solution.

I'm wondering, why RPI didn't make opensource Eagle/KiCAD or what ever format, schematics for implementing:

LAN interface
POE option
Multiple USB port
Audio port solution
HDMI option
Additional analog/digital pins out

If such thing exists, please tell me.

I deeply believe that would help many people a lot to use CM

Hi Igor, we are looking at doing something similar as you did (adding the original LAN9514 device to a CM3), Would you be willing to share what you schematic ended up looking like?
