We're also interested in this.

This question should be aimed at the suppliers, RS, Farnell, etc, not the Foundation. The Foundation does not produce the boards, and the rate that the suppliers build them should be down to demand.

I think they have been busy building B+'s and there was a production stop/delay when a diode supplier made 5 weeks of defective devices...

Hi,
Thank you for the answer however, as we are setting production based on it, we are a very small company, and 1000 pcs, means a lot of money for us, can you PLEASE send me any estimation about it. If not as a public then to
info@pimodules.com
You have much better entry point to these info, as example you knew about diodes problem, we not.
Thank you very much in advance for help

It has already been said that you should be bringing that up with RS or farnell as they can give the best answer.

Cannot give you any figures as I don't have any. I have asked the Foundation if there is any information, but nothing yet.

I've asked farnell about compute module availability.
They said that now they had only compute module + dev board kit and did not have any information about compute module (without devkit) availability in future.
It seems that nobody knows when modules will be available)

Anyone had any updates about the availability of the compute modules?

your best bet is to place an order on either rs or farnell site [or both] and then inform everyone when you get the email that that have dispatched
asking here is like

I called both Farnell and RS Components, they have no idea if or even when the Compute Modules will be available. A bit of a downer.

I can't remember where I saw it (so it may have been rumour rather than fact) but I think I read somewhere that they'll be available "in Autumn"

RS Components just called me back and confirmed they have no plans of releasing the Compute Module by itself.

RS Components have also been known to claim that the Model A had been discontinued, which IIRC Liz had to chase them up about...

Why would they sell a dev kit if they don't plan to sell the Modules? Is someone else going to sell the Modules?

HI All,
I can assure you RS components will be selling the compute module individually,
cgaller, do you have any information about who told you this from RS? as this is not the message that should be going out.
Apologies for any inconvenience this has caused you.
Feel free to direct any further questions you have to me regarding RS and the PI range,
I am the RS inventory representitive for Raspberry Pi and all new technologies and want to help with any questions or frustrations you may have regarding RS.
Kind Regards

Dear Liam McDade,
Thank you for your answer!
However I think that for the community of future users of the RPi Compute Modules, it is not so important to know who spread such information. The important, or rather the critical information is
when the RPiCM will be available? Please kindly notice that many companies invest their resources to design products based on it, and now are waiting for returns. Our small company designed 2 commercial products based on it, and can not do anything, without the knowledge about the dates of availability of RPiCM. If such investments are done by a big company, usually it is not a very big problem, but if it is done by a small company, any deadline is critical for their existence.
Could you please answer to this one.
Thank you very much for support,
With My Warmest Regards
Ioannis

[EDIT]
I forgot to add, that it would be fine with us, if you just specify the
exact date when it will be available.
This will allows us to schedule other components ordering, and redirect our small resources to other projects if needed (the deadline will be late)
Thank you again for your kinds support
With My Warmest Regards
Ioannis

Hi Liam, I believe his name was Keith. Regardless, what's the expected availability date?
