I received a Newark US Raspberry Pi Compute Kit and it contained 2 USB A Cables and no Micro B USB Cable. I this a one off mistake or are all the US Newark units kitted this way. Just wanted to know.

Yes, I too received the wrong USB cable(s). The quick start indicates that there should be USB A to micro B cable and I received 2 USB A to USB B cables. Newark is checking into this with Farnell apparently and will let me know on Monday.

Contact the company you purchased the kit from and inform them of the mistake. Most likely you'll get a replacement cable supplied free of charge. Maybe you need to send one of the erroneously supplied cables back. The Foundation has no responsibility regarding commercial transactions between these suppliers and end-consumers. (I know you understand this, just for future reference and those who can't distinguish between the parties involved

Farnell UK did the same thing. Maybe it's a sneaky way to get rid of all those A-B cables that no-one uses these days...
Lets see what RS does...
