Upgrade to CM3+ Lite W ?

Clearly, the vacant area on CM3+ Lite can be used by a future upgrade.

(I was told “be careful what you wish for, you might just get it”.)

So here it is: I wish the next upgrade is WiFi&BLE (plus a Heat management solution) as was done for Zero W and 3B+.

Apart from the wifi and Bluetooth, which probably will never be added to a CM for obvious reasons, your wish was already granted...

The form factor of the CM is dictated by two things. First, the needed components. If that was all there was to it, it could be considerably smaller, hence the empty space. The second is the size of the connector.

The whole point of the CM is to expose all available interfaces and let the buyer design (or, in some cases, purchase) a carrier board that uses desired connectors and other features. Putting WiFi and/or BT on the CM would be counter-productive to this.
