Creating a new PCB based on CM3Lite

Tue Mar 12, 2019 12:22 pm

Dear All,

I am a learner and am learning to build PCBs around CM3L (and CM3+ in the future) I wish to ask the below questions:

1. If I do not use the TV_DAC do I still need to feed CM_VDAC to the CM3?
2. If I build a circuit around CM3L will it be 100% pin compatible with CM3+L?

Thank you for the support!

Kind Regards
Rama

Hi, data sheet (https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentati ... tasheet.md) and schematics (https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentati ... ematics.md) are your friend here.

Page 13 of the release 2 data sheet, chapter 7, note a says
a Requires a clean 2.5-2.8V supply if TV DAC is used, else connect to 3V3
Do you have a uSD socket or not? No uSD socket, no CM3L support. Refer to CMIO schematics.

Thank you for the response Sir!
So I need to connect VDAC to 3.3v even if I do not need the TV_DAV output. I understand.

Thank you! I wanted to ask if I build a circuit for CM3L would it be compatible with CM3L+? i.e. next revision of CM3L?

The users manual which I've posted the link to is CM3+/CM3L+ (https://www.raspberrypi.org/products/co ... plus-32gb/)

Yes, it will!
