RPi CM 3 + CMIO internet connection

Wed Jan 09, 2019 6:22 am

Hello everyone,

Recently, I have a project which utilized RPi CM 3. For now, I successfully re-install Raspbain OS on CM 3 by using the Compute Module IO Board V3. However, I need it to connect to the internet, so I can modify and update the file on CM3. CMIO doesn't have an ethernet port. I have less background on the hardware side. Does anyone know how to use CMIO to connect CM3 with internet or any other solutions?

I'm trying to find the IP address of CM3 by 'ifconfig' and using the SSH to remote the CM3. But the returned result cannot work.

The CM and CMIO boards do not come with a network controller, so you will need to use a USB one.

I use a USB hub with Ethernet adapter combo for stuff like this, unfortunately the specific model I use seems to be discontinued, so I can't really recommend a specific model.

I'm using a USB-to-Ethernet (+ 3 USB ports): Tecknet HU043

Plug-and-play! :D
