[SOLVED] CMIO 1.2 with CM 3

Wed Aug 29, 2018 11:55 am

Hello,

I made a electronic board to use with CM3 but I took the wrong schematic source CMIO 1.2 instead of CMIO Rev 3.0.

I'm able to boot normally my raspberry but usb seems doesn't work in interface with a LAN9512.

When I want to boot from USB to mount the EMCC to my computer the raspberry boot normally.

I don't really see the reason of that after comparing the schematics, I think I miss something.

Thanks you for help.

Eliott.

... and what is your question?

In case USB is not working there can be several issues, like incorrect routing, D+ swapped with D-, crosstalk/noise influence from on-board power sources etc.

One note: have you condidered power requirement of CM3 (higher, compared to CM1) when designing your board?

Hello,

Thank you for the answer.

My question was what on the CMIO 1.2 schematic can make unusable USB on the CM3 board ?

I ordered an CM1 board and USB boot is okay my card is detected on windows as BCM,2708 Boot, so for me it's not an USB issue.

I have to check the normal boot, but I have to install first rasbian because the card is new.

I noted that the pin USB_OTGID is not pulled down on my card, does this pin could have an infludence on CM3 but not CM1 ?

About power requirement yes my power supply can deliver 2A at 5V but the sub stage 1.8V and 3V3 is designed for CM1, I didn't checked if there is any difference.

Regards,

Eliott.

Hello,

my CM3 is now working with USB_OTGID pulled down as host usb configuration.

LAN also works !
