Cost of design a CM IO board?
Anyone know what's a reasonable range of cost for designing a barebone (csi, 40pin, sd card, power) IO board?
Re: Cost of design a CM IO board?
Assuming that you're talking about manufacturing cost of an IO board that will be designed by you, the PCB would cost around $5 - $15 depending on the number of layers and the board house you choose. The parts for the PCB would cost anywhere between $20 - $40 per IO board. I'd recommend just assembling the boards yourself to reduce the cost.

I disagree.
Don't assemble it yourself.
The components on a CM IO board are tiny and impossible to solder without special tools

You could get a decent university student to design a simple PCB for GBP1K to GBP2K, if you require a correctly impedance matched USB / HDMI then it requires more design skill...
Working with the CM3 is easy "schematically" however most components are fine pitch / leadless / BGA so this increases the PCB design skills required.
We typically design a CM3 based PCB in 3-5 Days, but that's only because we now have builtup a decent amount of working experience.
