NEC CM3-16

Thu Feb 02, 2017 4:44 am

In the October announcement, NEC said they were going to start releasing the new, CM enabled, monitors and the 16GB CM3 in January. Has anyone seen anything further? Do they exist--with prices? Links would be welcome as my Google-fu is not of the best.

AFAIK, they won't be selling the CM3/16 separately, just the monitors, which I think are already on sale.

If you want a 16GB flash CM devices, you'll need to put the 16GB on the base board and use the CMLite

NEC was asked and said that anyone would be able to buy the CM3-16, which makes sense because otherwise how could anyone buy spare CM3-16s or replace modules if one fails. However, no price has ever been mentioned.

FYI...It's not that I have a use for CM3-16 modules. It's mostly curiosity. The project I have in mind is going to use CM3L modules booting from SSDs.

We haven't heard anything here about them selling them separately, if I see Eben I will ask him, he might be one of the few who really knows.
