Duel camera+duel displays

Sun Dec 27, 2015 6:54 pm

Would it be possible for the compute module (and adapter) to run two camera's at the same time, passing the video to two small displays?

I am planning a fursuit head and was interested in the technological capabilities of the compute.
Back in the old days, we were smarter then the technology.
Nowadays technology makes us look like villages fools in front of the children!

Do you mean that you want to have a small head as part of a costume that has cameras for eyes which project live video to screens in front of the eyes of the wearer of the suit?

Something like this? http://fursuit.livejournal.com/3304986.html

Be aware that you need special optics to allow you to focus on screens that are close to your eyes. There are various video glasses / head mounted displays (HMDs) around that would work. One of the cheap options is Google Cardboard.

You don't need dual displays. You can display left camera in the left half and right camera in the right half of a single screen.

Compute Module with two cameras can produce side-by-side video that should display OK.

You could use a single camera and a cheap car reversing LCD screen. That doesn't require any programing and will have minimal latency. It also starts up instantly and can be bought very cheap. One advantage is they are usually wide angle of view.

I suggest 7" reversing camera kit and Google Cardboard clone for the optics.

I guess the usual approach to this sort of thing is view through the chest of the costume and that may be a better option.

I think you mean "dual". "Duel" is the name for the greatest Steven Spielberg movie of all time.

I've heard that it can use two cameras, but I don't know about displays. I wouldn't fear just using two pi boards and networking them together.

What OS/version are you supporting with this solution?
http://duinorasp.hansotten.com for Raspberry Pi and Arduino and ESP8266
