I'm using regular Raspberry Pi2's for assembly line robotic testing. They are kind of cobbled together. Was thinking about making a custom board with a Compute module plug that has everything I need in one PCB, to be a little more elegant.. Thing is, for breadboard purposed, would first have to make an adapter with SODIMM connector to break it out to go into a breadboard.
Just suggesting that a more "raw" version of the compute module would be something to consider making. I am probably just going to make one from pcb123 or expresspcb, but those aren't cheap, and hand soldering a service mount SODIMM socket would be a nightmare.
Just a thought.
