Shutdown your RPi and mount it on the GPIO pins would be a good start.

I supplied the Gertduino with the Blinky Larson Scanner program installed.
First thing to do is read any FAQ's and disable safe boot mode on your Pi. And then follow Gordon's help at

projects.drogon.net/raspberry-pi/gertduino/

Thanks, will look that one up but the hurly burly of retirement is still upon me this week. Random errors in pay cheques, phone calls to sort, follow up calsl and letters, that sort of thing. I think the little gertduino needs a completely clear mind.
