For Sale: CuBox 2" Computer (Now £90!)

Sun Apr 07, 2013 2:56 pm

I’m looking to sell a Cubox computer. Does anyone want it? I’m looking for about £90 - I bought it for £154 - but any offers are welcome!

Thanks. But that price is without shipping and taxes which is a lot. I'm willing to go down but not to £50. What about if we meet in the middle?

James.

Could you go a bit higher than £70? Shipping to the US is much more expensive than to the UK. This is just so I can cover my shipping costs. Thanks.

Sorry. Considering the exchange rate between Euro and Dollars, that's as high as I will go. I would have to pass.

Just give me a few days to think about it. I will get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks, mate.

I do realize the Cubox is more expensive than a Raspberry Pi or similar, but it was overpriced to begin with. I'd be willing to poke around with it as an alternative to the Pi to see how much faster it is. I hope you get a better offer. I understand wanting to recoup as much money as possible.

Private messaging. A feature of this board.

I, too, share the PP's concern that discussing this business transaction in an open forum is inappropriate.
And some folks need to stop being fanboys and see the forest behind the trees.

I do know what PMs are. I didn't know you had to discuss the sale via PM.

On another forum that I was a member, the rule was that you had to discuss everything but address/location on the forum. This was so the mods could check everything. So, I thought it was the same here. But, thanks for letting me know. I'll use PMs from now on...

Do not look at what he said. The prices can and should be discussed here. That way other users can see precious proposals and see how further are you prepared to go on the price ;)

Thanks. That's what I thought. But, I'm still slightly confused- two people are telling me totally different things.

If you are confused, wait to see if a staff member came here to warn you about the price discussion.

The only thing you should "discuss" by PM is e-mail and street addresses.

I am not a mod - and even if I were, my opinion would be only that, my opinion.

But I strongly feel that if something is only of interest to two people (i.e., the two people involved), it should not be discussed in open forum; further, I believe (and this part is, I think, obvious) that's why PMs were invented; that's why they exist.

This is like on some discussion areas, where a general interest thread devolves into a back-and-forth between two posters. Someone will suggest, quite rightly, that they take it to email (believe it or not, an early form of PMs)

Now, having said all that, whether or not this thread (which seemed to be mostly dickering over price) meets that criteria (being of interest only to the two people involved) is open for discussion. Personally, I think it is (it meets the criteria). Others may differ.
And some folks need to stop being fanboys and see the forest behind the trees.

I know what you mean Joe. But, in this case, maybe the best option was to take the discussion here so others can see the lowest price OP are willing to take. This avoids repeated PMs on his inbox.
But, as you said, these are just opinions. Each one thinks the way he wants.

Thanks for trying to clear the rules up. I think the best thing to do is to use PMs if only a few are interested.

Back on topic, is anyone interested in buying the CuBox? Valnar is not interested anymore...
