FS (UK): GWInstek GDM-8251A Multimeter

Mon Jan 20, 2020 2:48 pm

I'm surprised this hasn't been snapped up. If you want a really good bench multimeter, this is one. 5 1/2 digit, 120,000 count ADC, dual display (displays two parameters together), measures capacitance (often missing from 'good' bench meters) and frequency, USB data logging interface, bright, easily readable VFD display (my favourite displays)... The only reason I'm selling it is that I'm selling up due to personal circumstances.

I bought this last Summer from eBay. It's in excellent condition, very bright (as new?) VFD display and works perfectly. Upgraded to the latest available firmware.

The calibration/warranty seal was intact when I bought it. Interfaces to a PC as it should and is great for data logging (I used that over several days when monitoring the GPSDO I was designing). I opened it up as I generally clean anything used that I get, and it was spotless inside as if it had hardly been used, or used in a very clean environment.

The most accurate thing I have to test it is a 0.02% Vref from Maxim, and the meter reads as expected within that accuracy.

Price, paid by Bank Transfer and posted UK only... £165

Collection is also possible (and encouraged, save the postage!) in Rossendale, Lancashire.

I'm really surprised this hasn't been snapped up. Let's try a little lower price.

Prob not the most appropriate place for such a beast - most of us just need to check if our Pi are getting 5V fed to them on pins 2 & 4 with occasional need to check if pin1 isn't dead

Tempting, but a lot more than I can justify at the moment and I'd have to sneak it in past the wife who thinks I have more than enough stuff already :(
