RS cases - cheapest?

Someone told me that RS sales cases for 6.5$. Are they the cheapest you can find?

I've got one of the Adafruit cases on my 1st Pi. Have one of the 3d printed cases coming for my 2nd. Wish I'd seen the built-to-spec case before I ordered the printed case. It looks nice.

Edit:For a fairly cheap alternative option ' modmypi.com' do some for £7.99...if you like the 'enclosed' style) in white or black.

They use injection moulded ABS plastic, and are designed and manufactured in the United Kingdom.

I can't comment on the RS case as I have never seen one but I am very happy with my Modmypi case.

The RS case is very nice, though a bit dull...
I'll post pics later of my case, which is basically a small sandwich box with holes cut out.
However, if you want a REALLY cheap option, have a search around for paper/card cases that you can print yourself.
The Adelt case is _very_ good, though the HDMI slot is in slightly the wrong place (they know) so you might want to wait for the next version. I beta-tested the Adelt one. Doesn't require glue, very sturdy plastic (took a lot of abuse as I assembled and re-assembled a lot) and fits the Pi snugly. It's made of the kind of plastic used on overhead projectors, so it's not a 'solid' plastic case, but if you want something to just make it a little more stable, it will suit your purposes well.

One has to weigh up the total package required and see who delivers fastest or cheapest depending on your disposition. But to return to my question - has anybody been able to compare the RS case with the ModMyPi version (which is about the same price if you include the add-on P&P).

Ahh, but if you order another Pi (you can't have too much Pi ) and 2 cases then all you will pay is £4.95 shipping for the lot, then you can have your Pi and eat it

I do agree that RS's shipping is a little steep for 1 case.

I have to recommend the Built-to-Spec case. Had it 3 days after I placed the order online. Very well made. Very reasonably priced. Looks much more classy and professional than any other R-Pi case I have seen (DIY and commercial, both!).

I just got my builttospec case today. It's a very nice looking case and the light pipes are a good touch. Way better than the junk 3D printed case I tried.

If you haven't got a solution already you can have a VESA mount as the base for a PiHouse. I have just measured the one I am using - total height, with board mounted, screws and feet: 38mm.

the yoctopuce case is 26mm high with threaded posts and 36mm with bolts and spacers (

i can supply a couple of cases with 26mm height. and can look at modifying the base for Vesa mounting just ask.

Lucky you!! I ordered mine from RS Spain two months ago and still waiting. I've called them, but they say it's delayed on the manufacturer side and that they have no clue about the foreseen delivery date.
