Thu Jan 22, 2015 11:55 am

My Pi booted up perfectly and via NOOB which gave me the option of which OS to install. I installed raspbian(recommended) into it .
i removed the SD card(8 gb) switching off the raspberry pi and read it in my computer. it is only showing a total size of 2 gb available and titled 'Recovery'.I want cmdline text for configuration of connection of my raspberry pi to internet which is not visible.
please help !!

From https://github.com/raspberrypi/noobs/bl ... /README.md
On any subsequent boot you can then press the SHIFT key to enter the NOOBS interface and easily reinstall your choice of OSes.

The NOOBS interface provides the following functionality:

Install: Installs the selected OSes onto your SD card. Changing this selection erases all OSes currently installed.
Edit Config: Opens a text editor allowing the cmdline and config for the selected installed OS to be edited.

@prinam - it is not necessary to put your SD card in your computer in order to configure your Pi to connect to the internet. I assume your computer runs Windows since you can only see the 1st 2GB FAT partition on the SD card, so it will actually be more difficult to set the internet connection this way. Better to set up your internet connection on the Pi itself.

You did not mention what type of internet connection you have - wired ethernet, ICS, wifi, 3G etc. What you want to connect to affects how you configure it. By default in Raspbian, wired ethernet is set up in DHCP mode, so if you can plug your Pi into a home router with an ethernet cable, it should just work. There should be plenty of posts here and on Google about how to set up other types of internet connection. If you are still stuck, you need to provide more information about the internet connection that you want to connect to. In any event, from the cmdline, you will probably end up editing /etc/network/interfaces.
