Outputting Kali on to a laptop via raspberry pi b+

So as I stated earlier I'm currently doing a project using the raspberry pi and the Kali Linux OS

But the problem is I can't seem to output it either to my laptop or via a TV

So I want to ask how do I do this as I'm really stuck here ?

1. Are you sure it is booting?

2. How are you trying to output to your laptop? On most laptops the HDMI socket is output only.

3. How are you trying to connect to TV? HDMI or composite?

Well I'm still new to the raspberry pi so I dunno to much about it

Anyway when I connected the pi to the TV and plugged in the power supply there were two lights that came on. One was red and the other was green.

I waited for about 10 minutes and my TV still said there was no signal even though everything was connected

So I dunno what to do

Oh and I connected the pi to the TV via HDMI cables that are ceonnected to the tv and the pi

Suggest you start by installing Raspbian. Once you have that working you know that all the hardware is OK and can then attempt Kali.

If Raspbian doesn't work at first attempt after properly following instructions, there is significantly more help available here for it than Kali.

There's still the problem of the output

As I can't see anything when the pi is on as i can't connect it to either my laptop or TV

What OS have you installed on the SD card?
Only minutes ago in your other thread you were asking about installing Kali Linux.
You do realize that the RPi will do nothing without a working image properly installed on the SD card?
IMO you should install Raspbian via NOOBS and get familiar with the RPi before trying to use a non mainstream OS.

At the moment the micro sd card that I'm using has the Kali Linux OS installed on it

I downloaded the image file and written it to the sd card before inserting it into the pi

With respect, you think that Kali is properly installed on the SD card. Until you have a RPi with that card outputting to a display you cannot be certain.

That's true

So I'm going to download and install noobs first and then run raspien and connect it to my TV again to check whether is it running or not

I would suggest not NOOBS but the Raspbian image as the method for putting that on the card is more likely to be the same as for Kali.

Ok I would try both then

Here's hoping that my TV would show the output as it's the only other monitor I have since my laptop can't display it
