Installed Chromium and Gnash - Flash plug-in out of date

Fri Dec 26, 2014 10:31 am

Hi all,

Im brand new to the Pi  .

I want to try and watch Youtube videos on this and went and followed guides on installing Chromium and Gnash, however when I load up Youtube (or any other Flash site), I get the message saying the plug-in is out of date? I have a option to 'run this time', but that doesn't work.

How do I update Gnash? Does it even need updating? etc etc

Any help would be really appreciated thank you

Gnash never worked well and propably will never
do so because even Adobe is trying to kill Flash itself.

Try the Minimal Kiosk Browser (kweb) instead , it supports
YouTube and a lot of other video websites with stutter-free
playback.

Of course , Flash games won't work this way.

• Don't like the board ? Missing features ? Change to the prosilver theme ! You can find it in your settings.
• Don't like to search the forum BEFORE posting 'cos it's useless ? Try googling : yoursearchtermshere site:raspberrypi.org

Fyi both Chromium Browser a gnash are no longer developed and should be considred obsolete.

Raspbian Wheeezy by default has Epiphany Browser and is HTML5 complient, therefore forget Flash and look for HTML5 alternatives...
