Button Wired to GPIO keeps acting as if it's being pressed

Mon Nov 24, 2014 12:20 am

This happens whenever my raspberry pi sends commands via GPIO such as to a transistor which is connected to IR LEDS to send IR commands. For some reason this only happens with my button. I have it set as pull Down and its connected to 3.3V and GPIO. Whenever my raspberry pi lights up my rgb led and sends an IR command the button registers as though it is being pushed, this is very annoying as I cannot get proper button functioning because of it.

Sounds like you need a stronger pull down resistor.

Try another GPIO.

Perhaps you should give us more details, such as a diagram of how your button/LED are wired, which GPIOs you are using and an example of your GPIO code.
