Help me build my Raspberry Pi KIT

Sat Nov 01, 2014 1:07 am

i was looking into the starter kit, but i want to be able to choose a different pibow and have wireless mouse/keyboard.

my questions are first are we allowed to talk about adafruit/ reference links from there? or am i only allowed to discuss products from raspberri pi affiliates i.e "Swag"?

but here is a a generic list of supplies/items ive gotten:
Raspberry Pi Model B+ 512MB RAM PID: 1914
Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Combo w/ Batteries - One USB Port! PID: 1738
Miniature WiFi (802.11b/g/n) Module: For Raspberry Pi and more PID: 814
8GB Card with NOOBS 1.3.9 PID: 1583
Ninja Pibow - Enclosure for Raspberry Pi Model B+ Computers PID: 2081
5V 2A Switching Power Supply w/ USB-A Connector PID: 1994
USB cable - A/MicroB - 3ft PID: 592
HDMI Cable - 1 meter PID: 608
PIHUB - USB Hub for Raspberry Pi with US Power Adapter

just let me know if this is all i need?

All manner of things and companies get discussed. Keep it Pi-related and you probably won't have any issues with the Forum mods. Many of us have favorite suppliers for different bits and those companies get mentioned with some frequency. Personally, I like Adafruit for power supplies and more esoteric items. I've generally been getting Pis themselves from MCM. For cables (and mice), I look to Monoprice. Keyboards...mostly Fry's. And for monitors, a local thrift shop.

Starting out now (rather than--say--six months ago), you can start with a Model B+ instead of a Model B. With a B+, you probably won't need a hub. One presumes that you have monitor or TV for the other (non-Pi) end of the HDMI cable you list. But, yes, that looks to be a reasonably complete list to start out.

thank you for the response, just wanted to make sure that the cabling was correct in the cart, would of loved to just buy it as 1 unit rather then the usb/mini and the adapter -_- but as long as those two pieces go together to power pi im fine with that.

and yes, currently have a lcd monitor but am looking into other ideas like the hdmip ive seen from rasp tv.

was even considering pi tops laptop shell but i dont believe its an hd included screen and theres no integrated speakers so id end up using bluetooth/some other external speakers with that.

but for now this will do, thanks!
