NOOBS

Fri Oct 24, 2014 2:42 pm

Connected up new Pi B+ - bought with pre loaded micro SD.

Screen came up but stuck on -

'Please wait while Noobs initialises'

Been like that for over 1 hour. Unplugged and re plugged power supply - same outcome!

Any ideas?

Sounds like a power issue. Much info is in the boot problem sticky post.

I'd start by reformatting the NOOBS card and rebuilding it with a copy of NOOBS 1.3.10.

I just re installed raspbian OS.When it is booting it asks for login i write in Pi and for password i write raspberry. Then it reads "The programs included with the debian GNU/linux system are free software;
the exact distribution terms for each program are described in the individual files in /usr/share/doc*/copyright. Debian GNU/linux comes with absoulutely no warranty, to the extent
permitted by applicable law. :?: What shall I do :?: Please help because Iam a complete noob and new to linux.

Type
sudo raspi-config
and press [ENTER]

From the menu that appears you need to do two things.
1. Set up your locale, keyboard and timezone (internationalisation)
2. Set up Raspbian to automatically boot to the desktop
and reboot.

that video will tell you exactly how to setup raspbian correctly (and takes you through every step in raspi-config)

Hi - thank you for your suggestion - I have now tried three different power supplies with the same result!
