Bit-Torrent client

Thu Oct 16, 2014 5:25 pm

For some reason my thread seems to have gone missing. I was talking to default_user8 about setting up a bit-torrent client.

I have got as far as:
5. Find watch-dir and change it into /home/pi/torrentwatch or whatever the name of the folder you have prepared before.
I can find no mention of "watch-dir" in that .json file and I don't know what it means when it says I have prepared it before. This is the first time the tutorial has referred to it.

This is my take, but you need to PM a Mod for Clarification.

A second post on same subject is not warranted or needed, you have a post here:

Then the old thread should have been deleted, not the new one.

I ignore the bit about the watch port and I never bothered setting up a static I.P. and everything seems to work now. Thank you to default_user8 for your help if you have managed to find this thread.

The OCD moderator can feel free to delete both threads now.

thats simply the risk you take when you post duplicate threads about the same subject, you will not get an answer quicker, your post duplication will be reported, and one (random) post will be deleted, mostly the one with the least number of posts, but there is no guarantee the "right" post will be deleted! simply do not post duplicates!

You refer to "duplicate posts" three times in your post. Who made any duplicate posts? The topics were different in both cases, as were the original posts. I clearly explained why I took the decision to end the first post and start another. The original thread was difficult to read for anybody with a similar issue, it suffered from people replying merely by posting a link and then not returning to answer follow-up questions. Finally, it was then hijacked by someone who took one small point I made out of all context and made several off-topic posts.

My issue is resolved now, thanks to a user who actually proved useful. They provided a link to a well-written article and returned regularly to answer any follow-up questions I had. Despite this, you decided to delete the thread that should have been kept and vice versa.

Thank you for confirming that Fruitoftheloom was sad enough to report me. I have added him to my foes list. He will have to seek the immense feeling of power lacking in his actual life elsewhere now.

Closing and locking the subject, and I would suggest the OP to read the forum rules, there are not many! Try to keep it civil please.
