Using cheap Power bank as a UPS

Hi,

I want to use a cheap power bank like below link as a UPS:
http://www.amazon.in/2600Mah-Poratble-L ... TZTHAGQJWE

Actually my issue is that I need the Pi to stay powered up in case of a Power Cut(Load shedding).
It take 30-60 seconds for the Diesel generator to start up & resume electricity.
This results the Pi to reboot. I am little worried about SD Card corruption & hardware failure.

I am concerned about leaving this kind of Power banks switched on 24x7 also.
The setup would as follows:

5v 2A Power Adapter--------------Power bank---------------Pi B+ Model.

Please advise if this setup could work or not?

It will work. No idea how long (months, years) it will last, it is made of cheap chinese materials.

Its like a notebook with a battery on mains. I use this setup for many years .

Thank you for the Reply.

Should I assume that these Power banks are safe & they will not explode if left in switched on for 24x7.
