HDMI cable with Ethernet

Thu Sep 25, 2014 12:57 pm

Hello all,
I bought a HDMI cable to connect my Pi with a screen. Now I found out it has "Ethernet- and audio feedback channel".
Is that a problem or will that work as good as a cable without that stuff?

it will work - but it will not give you ethernet from the RPi via HDMI you still need to plug a NIC lead in

That's not a problem.
I will use the built-in ethernet thingy in my Pi for Internet.

Just a minor datum to facilitate communication...that "Ethernet thingy" is an "RJ-45 jack". (For comparison, in the US the one on a landline phone is an RJ-11 jack.)
