How to rotate by 90° Wheezy-lxde ?

Wed Aug 27, 2014 5:27 pm

Hi,

I'm a beginner who attached my Raspberry B on a big TV screen via HDMI. I have Wheezy with LXDE/Openbox and everthing works fine. Now I want to rotate the display by 90° clockwise (to the right). But no luck !

The tool LXRandR gives me one single possible resolution: 1824x984 on display 'default'. I've found diverse calls to xrandr to rotate right or left by I get told that's not possible by xrandr on my Raspberry.

As it is possible to rotate the display under MS Windows on this TV set, I suppose that I don't have the correct driver or I miss somthing in this sea of config files.

What might be the solution ?

It's much easier than all that. Simply set the display_rotate option as appropriate in config.txt on the first partition of your SD card. This takes effect at the 'firmware' level, no messing about in Linux or XWindows necessary :D
