Pi Uptime

I'm glad you took my answer with the good grace it was intended

I have only ever run my Pi headless, and it hides behind my router, with power in one end, and ethernet out its... um.... errr.... "Pi hole" ?

So although I think it looks a bit janky having ports on all sides, it actually doesn't impact me, and overall, the Pi is a thing of beauty anyway.

Is powering via GPIO easy?

its easy to power via the gpio BUT it bypasses the normal dc protection so a good regulated psu is required and you have to be careful, but so far so good here
pin 2 is 5+
pin 6 is ground

Oh, so just bang 5V on there and she is good to go.

But gotta be good power.

Is this more suitable to a bench setup where a decent regulated power supply already exists?

i use a fairly cheap power supply made for cctv installs, only a few quid, and it will fit nicely into an enclosure hopefully a bit smaller than this one

pi's are luckily cheap enough to have more than one, so makes playing a bit les risky

I'm on 30 days so far with no problems to report.
