USB wifi disappeared

Sun Jul 20, 2014 12:53 pm

Hi, I've been using the USB wifi fine, up until now!
Not sure what I've done, but the dongle isn't showing up in the 'wpa_gui' screen, but when I do a lsusb command, it appears on there as device 006, wireless adapter.
Help please :D
Also, I'm very new to programming so take it easy.. ;)
Thanks

Do you have a spare SD card you could use to build a second Noobs SD.

It would need to be an 8 Gig.

This would be the fastest way to try and eliminate problems without wiping your existing SD.

Having said that you have come to the right place to find answers so stick with it and we will try and figure out what is wrong.

If you only have a 4Gig you could build a wheezy.

To try and help we really need to know the approach you have taken. ;)

Yeah I've got another 32gb sd card I could use....
I think it was working fine until I got the touch screen working (as in replaced the /boot/kernel.img, /lib/firmware, and /lib/modules), could this be the problem?
Thanks

Conclusive test, work through all the steps you did to create the first take notes

Just before you install your touch screen

Take an image of the SD that will allow you to get back to that stage quickly (this is SD card equivilent of making a restore point) Note a 32Gig will be 32Gig image which will take ages.

I use Wheezy with a 4Gig image (Noob SD needs a 8Gig minimum) there is a way to squeeze an image down so it does not include blank space there's a thread here somewhere on this forum If I can find it I will edit a link here.
