Debian Squeeze freezing up

I just got my raspi today, and I booted it up, everything worked, but when I entered the gui (startx command) it freezes up and my mouse and keyboard stop working. I'm totally new to all this stuff, so please help!!

This is not an isolated case - read the fourm and you will find lots of this going on. The main culprit appears to be the PSU and/or HUB.
What is your setup? What is the rating of the PSU or HUB? Try swapping the hardware out with others, including the micro usb cable.
