Project to impress colleges?

So I've been planning on doing an RPi project this summer, and I figured I might as well make one that could impress college admissions counselors (I'll be a senior in the fall). FYI I have minimal coding skill. Could anyone suggest a cool project that is relatively easy to do ( i.e. no soldering, etc) and is sure to impress?
Thanks

I think that, by definition, nothing that is easy to do is going to be impressive, if it is easy, anyone could do it, huh?
What you need to do is think about what fun or useful things you might want to do with your raspberry pi, something you can put your whole heart into, that is unique, and calls on the skills and imagination that you do have. And that you can find useful in some way, that would be helpful to you with your studies, or at home.
The other thing to do is to use a search engine and google for "cool raspberry pi projects" and see what is interesting to you and that you think you would be capable of doing.
And read Liz's blog posts - (top menu, site blog) - she has spent lots of energy writing about all the different kinds of projects people use their raspberry pi's for.

I say forget about impressing people and focus on learning something. Pick an interesting project, learn to solder, look at what other people have done, read up on the theory and make your own. You won't impress anybody if you can't solder or program, but a nice side effect of following your interests is that it's just inherently impressive if you have something to show for it.

I agree with boyoh that if you want to impress a college these project seems like too difficult for you. If you try to show your skill to college then ask you many questions on your skill. So be careful about this project. As a student I also struggled to impress college counselor I practiced properly on college essay writing with following many tips from teachers and online by many sites like collegehelp1.com.
