thanks; I was about to move from Putty/UART to LAN access myself.
I will probably be using Pi in console mode as opposed to its GUI. If xrdp is installed as you say is that a permanent change, or can I still "putty" (excellent little program!) into Pi typing its IP address into the putty startup form?
Behind this .. slight nerves about a change I can't reverse, but easy enough to save a memory card image beforehand and restore from that.
Any advice would be useful. My own "sweet spot" would be to have console access in one PC desktop window (I like to be able to copy/paste from eg this forum), and a different one giving me graphics.
