Hm, not having a wireless keyboard and if I connect to my TV I do not have a cable long enough for a wired connection to my router I cannot think of a way to get my wireless going on my xbmc Pi. Thing is I cannot find instructions as to which file on the OS (openelec) to change (and what to put in it) via SSH to enable the wifi. Does anyone know or am I going to have to buy a wireless keyboard (only for setup!) and a 20m ethernet cable? Thanks.

PS I have tried the web interface of xbmc but it does not have a System tab on that interface. Currently the Pi is connected by short cable and I am using Putty.

Buy a cheapo (£10 or less) wired keyboard and a cheapo wired mouse.

You an also connect the RPi to a laptop (with a cat5 cable) and use a bridged interface to connect it to the public Internet. If you're connected with SSH & PuTTY then you should be able to do everything you need but with XMBC it hides a lot of the config behind it's on-screen menu system.
