SD card is write protected!

Thu Jan 02, 2014 6:45 pm

Help! I got a Raspberry Pi starter kit for Christmas(after much begging). In it came a few things, one of which is an SD card. On it is a bunch of files for OS'es.

The sd itself.

I procedded to copy these files to a seprate folder, then tried to wipe it. As it turn out, it is write protected, what do I do? Get a new SD? or could I modify it somehow.I am not deleting sys32. I will upload images of the files upon request.

Google can return you quite some answers... this is one: http://www.fixya.com/support/r7042428-s ... te_protect

RasPi does not check the position of this switch, therefore, this write protection of the SD card is not applicable on RasPi.

Best wishes, Ivan Zilic.
