Hello I am trying to run my Raspberry PI on the Composite Video input as I do not have access to HDMI or HDMI/DVI at present.
When I first received my PI I managed with a small amount of trial & error to press 3 and managed to install then run Raspbian.

However I updated my SD Card with the new version of NOOBS and have had no success getting the PI running.
I even tried another SD Card and tried to put an edited config.txt on the root of the card with sdtv_mode=2 but this still didn't work.

The LED seems to flash 8 times and I've read that this means that the SD card cannot be read, perhaps the firmware file is not up to date. This can't be right if I'm running the latest NOOBS.

Can anyone offer any helpful suggestions?
I have a card reader on my Linux laptop that I've tried re-formatting and starting again.

Is there a definitive guide that lists all the necessary files?

In case it helps the PI is from RS in the UK part 756-8308 with a pre-installed card (that I stupidly overwrote).

Using composite video with NOOBS is a "little tricky" - after pressing '3' or '4' on "first boot" you have to make sure that composite mode has been made permanent as shown here: http://www.cpmspectrepi.webspace.virgin ... ellow.html (otherwise O.S.'s are installed using HDMI video!)

I'll have another go, perhaps I am blind without the HDMI?

Still having no success with the composite video (awaiting a HDMI>DVI in the post).
Status LED is still flashing regularly so I suspect there is a problem.

Any other suggestions?

iif your using a tv check tv settings make ure source is set to composit input my tv requires a manual reset to recognise source
