RPi for my RV?

Hi all,

I do a bit on boondocking in my RV and want to use my RPi as a low power media server

I'm pretty confident that this is feasible and if anyone has any recommendations or concerns

RPi Model B running XBMC or OpenElec off 8gb class 10 sd card
SanDisk Cruzer Fit CZ33 32GB. Power <100mA -$18
or similar thumb drive
Rii Keyboard for use as a remote. Power <55mA for similar model -$18
USB 1A from 12V Cigarette outlet to micro

If I wanted wifi, I suppose I'd need a usb hub and a low power dongle...

Other than that, is this pretty reasonable?

Completely doable.

A thought, I'm not sure if the Pi would like it, but maybe you could get a powered USB hub and power the Pi off that with a USB-MicroUSB cable, that way the power requirements of your keyboard, flash drive and wifi dongle isn't an issue.

If you want to make it a hobby project, grab some solar panels and a battery and make it 100% wireless. XD

Well I hope to one day get a solar panel for this beast, but for now my power requirements are so low that a solar panel would probably hurt the battery

I like your idea of running a hub off the usb. I hadn't thought of doing that. I own one of these:

So I imagine the 2.1A out of usb would be more than enough to power a hub to meet my requirements. Now to find such a device that would allow usb input to power the hub...
