Queston on Audio and Keyboard

Tue Dec 03, 2013 2:26 pm

I set the OS to the default. But I have two questions. How do I set the Keyboard to US and how do I get (if there is) the audio player to work? I have not found an audio player and it keeps asking me the location of the audio software when I click on a sound file. Is there an audio player already on the default OS and if so what is it called? If there is not, where can I download one at?

Thanks alot for your help. It has been awhile since I have messed with Linux.

If you're talking about Raspbian, you should be able to install a music player with apt-get.
Like, sudo apt-get install banshee

For the keyboard rerun the config utility:
sudo raspi-config
Go to the internationalization menu then keyboard menu.
If your exact keyboard model is not listed then choose one of the generic keyboards.
Then drill down to find: English (US)
Complete questions then reboot

Which type of audio files are you trying to play?
Unless specified otherwise my response is based on the latest and fully updated RPiOS Buster w/ Desktop OS.

Do you have omxplayer installed?
Have you checked the audio settings with the amixer command?
