Click one window at a time?

I've currently installed Pidora, and I find it more annoying to have a mouse than have not.
Is it supposed to only let you click within the active window, and no other windows?

Really annoying when I wish to organize my screen because I cannot move any windows with my mouse.

I'm very used to using my keyboard to control everything, but is it even supposed to be this way?

Really annoying to not be able to just click on a window behind to bring it forward, any fix for this?

Does Raspbian and its desktop work OK?

I don't use Raspbian, I don't like sudo apt-get. I'm too used to Redhat.

I installed firefox, and I cannot even click inside the window... all I can click is the task bar on the bottom, so I must Ctrl L to select the address bar, and tab to select links on the page.

Really annoying, I'm ssh -x from my PC in order to do things now, because I cannot stand that.

Really wish to learn how to fix it though.

Well, Pidora isn't as well supported or used as Raspbian, so you are unlikely to find help as quickly. Trying Raspbian would at least confirm if there is a HW problem, or if it's just down to Pidora. My guess is the latter.

Which windows manager have you been used to using on DeadRat (aka RedHat)?
Which windows manager have you installed on Pidora?

Does your windows manager support the keyboard shortcuts for resize, minimise, maximise and move?
