"librasqaul3 " is missing final newline error 2

Sat Oct 05, 2013 9:37 pm

Tried again to install Synaptic and also firefox-sage. Both aborted with the same error message. Is there a fix for this?
Thx,

"librasqaul3" returns no hits apart from this thread.

How about pasting the full output of an attempt to install something, including the actual error..?

[edit - there is a "librasqal3", that must be what you mean. Still, the whole output would be useful.

That said,

Code: Select all

# aptitude reinstall librasqal3
might work]

sudo apt-get is the command line

did you synch repositories first ?

That isn't good. Corrupt SD card? I see from your other thread you've been pulling the plug out to reboot. That'll do it...

Is that file readable? What's in it?

Would seem to indicate that deleting

/var/lib/dpkg/info/librasqal3.list

then reinstalling the package might help, if you feel like rearranging deck-chairs

Sounds like it. "Missing final newline" is usually how corrupt cards announce themselves.

I do believe the card is partly corrupt. I do shutdown before pulling the power plug. In any case, I am now running off a USB flash drive, which seems to be faster. As I have lots of space, I've d'ld Firefox-sage, synaptic, gnash, etc. I'm surprised that this version of Firefox is so Google-centric, I really don't like that.
Thanks to all who responded, I appreciate your help.
