Unofficial RaspPi for Beginners - Youtube Channel started

Fri May 11, 2012 8:12 am

I've started a Raspberry Pi for Beginners Youtube channel which should help all you total beginners get started.

They are step by step video guides and should show you exsactly how to get your Pis running.

http://www.youtube.com/user/RaspberryPi ... ature=mhee

Video's so far include Part 0 - Welcome
Part 1 - Unboxing of my Raspberry Pi
Part 2 - Preping the SD card
Part 3 - Booting (fedora remix) for the first time
Part 4 - Logging in for the first time
Part 5 - Loading Debian "squeeze"desktop
Part 6 - Enabling SSH on Debian
Part 7 - Swapping between OS'
Part 8.1 - How to view your Raspberry pi system's information This is a new account, as I used to be under the name Core Matrix so they are not stolen videos;

Hi - we like what you're doing, but I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you to make some changes to make sure you're complying with the trademark rules. (We have to enforce the trademark rules very carefully even in friendly cases like yours, because if we are seen not to, companies passing off non-Raspberry Pi products with our name and logo have a legal defence.)

So could you please stop using the Raspberry Pi logo, and rename things "Unofficial Raspberry Pi for beginners" or similar? Have a look at the ™ Info link at the top right of the page for the rules. I'm really sorry and I don't want to discourage you!

Your URL still doesn't mention your unofficial-ness. I don't know if that's OK - I guess it should be because the user would click the URL and find out that this is unofficial, but you might want to check that, better to start again now than a year or so down the line!

I cant change the URL without changing my youtube username, and that wouldn't be possible without taking down the account and re-uploading everything on a new account. I've been in contact with Liz and she is happy with the changes made. << Thanks for the input dude i wouldn’t wanna get caught with my pants down

Darn, I was working on an ASCII version as per the request in the MOTD video. Good point though.

In an un-related point, can I request you include the pastebin link in the last video in the description?

I'm kind of torn about including the commands. Forcing people to type them out is probably good practice.
