Resolution 1920x720

Wed Sep 04, 2013 3:29 pm

I have a panel which resolution is 1920x720 and I used the XBMC.
I was successfully set up the output by simply adding a command"hdmi_cvt=1920 720 60 0 0 0 0" in config.txt
But the problem is, when I try to show the 1920x720 image, it cannot become full-screen.
The image will have add black banner on both top and bottom of the image.
Only if I show the 1920x1080 image, it'll be full-screen.
It seems that it shows 1920x720 on the screen, but actually it runs 1920x1080 inside.

Is this normal?
Or should I add other command?
Put the 1920x720 image in 1920x720 screen, but it didn't full screen.

I am investigating how to get a custom resolution set up on an hdmi tv screen although I am looking to get a much lower resolution so I can do linux from my sofa! I think it might be popular couch potato sport...

Anyway although I haven't figured it out yet I think the answer to your problem is easy although I don't have the links handy. Just search for "overscan" and cvt resolution

I am sure there are some default examples with overscan on one of the main wikis for pi or related wiki all over the place. Haven't got that near to my solution yet so cant help more than that but thanks for your question which may have helped me ;)

Where did you find this display? Is there any where I can buy it?
