Games

I was thinking about buying a raspberry pi, but before I do I just have a few questions. My main reason for buying it would be to mainly play games on it and I was just wondering how capable is the pi in running games. Like which games can it run from which systems, and is it possible to hook up controllers to the pi and if so what do I have to buy to do it?

It seems like it can play quite a few emulators like mame and nes and snes and a few others. some controllers can be used like ps3/360 (wireless adapters needed) and some usb adapted controllers after you install drivers or something also I think one or two of the quake games was even ported.
