Hello! Looking to buy me some Pi! Got some rough use-cases in mind for my two Model B's I plan to get, now I'm just full of questions. Let's dive right in, shall we?
First off, I'd like to use one as a children's computer, as the VAIO they used to use has gone RIP. Poor old thing, bout time it fried. One thing I see a lot of issue about is flash. The kids love their flash games, especially bearville.com. Is there /any/ usable setup for flash? Even if it's android.
For the second Pi, it will be a miniature wireless network camera setup with battery, moonlighting as a RasPlex. Now, RasPlex is easy enough, just put in the card with RasPlex installed, but the camera is concerning me.
I intend to get the RasPi Model B, with this Wifi dongle http://amzn.to/1ejJI9C
, and the camera board.
Now, what would be the best software setup for this thing to run like a DVR, saving video all the time or on motion sense, and save it to a NAS? Also to stream live when I want a peek? Zonealarm? "Motion"?
And, keeping in mind the above hardware power drain, would this battery suffice? http://amzn.to/13wmziM
And about how long do you estimate it would last?
I'll reply to this thread if I get more questions!
