Duplicate setup?

Fri May 31, 2013 3:09 am

Once I have the RasPi setup the way I want it (correct usernames, SSH configured etc) is it possible to create a new image from the SD card so that if the SD card ever has an issue, I can reload the image and have things back to the way I want?

How to back up your SD card using win32diskimager: http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewt ... 26&t=26463

It does depend on the destination card being exactly the same size, or bigger, than your system card. Many cards differ by a little bit, depending on the manufacturer and any defects on the chip inside.

It isn't isn't insurmountable if the card isn't the right size, but it really needs a linux box to do it. It doesn't mattter if the new card is slightly larger than the old one, but it needs doctoring if its smaller.
