Weird Booting Problem

I have this weirdest raspberry booting problem. The thing is I installed raspbian wheezy dated 2012-12-16 on a 16 GB micro sd card and on a 2 GB micro sd card as well.
Well the 2 GB card boots up flawless but the 16 GB card some times doesn't boot up.(No sign of green led)
The solution I found was when ever the 16 GB card didn't boot, plug in the 2 gig one and boot , then shutdown then plug in the 16 gig one. And viola...it boots.....

Its really starting to annoy me

Would not do any harm to clean your card contacts use alcohol (surgical spirit or vodka) on a cotton bud ensure the sd cards are dry before re-use.

This fix may not work but it is worth trying report back if it solves the problem. ;)

I wonder if this will change when you (eventually, perhaps) try out the more recent (Feb. 2013) version of wheezy? ;)

I figured if it was booting at all it was not a version issue but it could be it needs the newer firmware.

How many micro-to-standard sd card adapters do you have? Could it be the adapter that is sometimes not making contact?

I cleaned the contacts on the card but still the problem persists. I don't think there is a contact issue. I have only one card adapter.

How ever I would point out that after using the 2 GB and then shutting down and plugging in the 16 GB one is still the solution. If there was any contact issue, why would this work ?

Is pulling the power out directly causing the problem, but then I do so the same with the 2gig card but it works fine.

Some more details.

I slide in the 16 GB card, plug in the power. wait for the green led. If it boots well and good. If there is no green led then

I slide in the 2GB card, plug in the power...wait for the green light(no problem here reading the card) and pull the power out then slide in the 16GB card, plug in the power and believe it or not the green led is ON and it boots.

This seems to work every single time.

Cleaning the contacts was just an atempt to elimiate bad contact as a variable.

Your problem is if nothing else strange.
