Curious to any updates on this front - this thread is the highest ranked forum result on google for "raspberry pi WiFi dongle"
Pi Foundation has officially launched their own WiFi according to this https://www.raspberrypi.org/products/usb-wifi-dongle/, and it looks like it's awesome from the reviews here: http://raspi.tv/2015/new-official-raspb ... and-edimax
I'm particularly interested in the range of the device (IoT people... this is a huge issue!), and also the 'ad hoc' / infrastructure capability that'll make it possible for people to connect a raspberry pi to their own wifi network without needing to hook it up to the tv etc.
It's available online here: http://shop.pimoroni.com/products/offic ... ifi-dongle but that's only for the UK.
I can't seem to find it in the US yet.
There's more discussion here: viewtopic.php?f=46&t=48252, and it seems the latest news as of February this year here viewtopic.php?f=46&t=99111 so what's happening please?!
